Freezing rain, and the weatherperson promised that the temperatures in my area will drop 30 degree in the next few hours. Time to nest

Scribbling
I believe firmly in scribbling and doodling and sketching as the way to learn to make art. Above is what I doodled this weekend, enhanced digitally.
It’s easy to skip daily scribbling when you’re focussed on getting ready for a portfolio review, or paying bills, or the massive task that is putting together the holidays, or whatever.
For years, (and I mean years) I painted watercolors. I concentrated on developing my technique and neglected concept. So I didn’t keep a sketchbook.
When I was in high school art classes, we had to keep sketchbooks and turn them in once a a month or so. I always waited until Sunday and then whipped out 10 pages of what was sitting around the house. I drew a lot of plants.
Now I keep sketchbooks that are mostly thumbnails and doodles. I have a stack of about 20 that I’ve filled in the last few years.
